Free benchmark · about 60 seconds

Benchmark your homepage right now.

No email, no signup, no blurred results. Put in your address and we load the page in a real browser, run the same automated WCAG 2.2 AA ruleset behind our Baseline, and show you every failure we find: the count, the severity split, and each failing success criterion by name.

One free benchmark per visitor per day, one page per scan. Automated checks find roughly 30 to 40% of real barriers, so this is the floor, not the full picture, and passing it does not prove conformance. Nothing is stored against you unless you ask us for the detail: anonymised aggregates feed the Baseline (privacy). By scanning you confirm it is your site or you may test it.

Why this matters now

The law is real. Here it is in three lines.

In force since
28 June 2025

The European Accessibility Act requires shops, booking, banking and consumer software serving EU customers to be accessible. Not guidance. Law.

Applies to you from
10 staff or EUR 2M

Wherever your company is registered, if EU consumers use your service. Smaller than that? You are exempt, and we will tell you so rather than sell to you.

Penalties up to
EUR 900,000

  • Germany (BFSG): to EUR 100k for the service, EUR 10k for the paperwork, plus power to block the service
  • Netherlands: to EUR 900k or 1% of turnover for webshops, enforced by the ACM
  • Ireland: a criminal offence
  • France: courts already ruling this year

No headline fine has hit a mid-market shop yet; today's pressure is warning letters, procurement checklists and fix timelines measured in months. Do not take our word for the law: read Directive (EU) 2019/882 on EUR-Lex, the official EU law database.

The EU Accessibility Baseline · Edition 1 · July 2026

We publish our evidence. All of it.

Every quarter we scan hundreds of European consumer pages against the automated WCAG 2.2 AA floor and publish the results, the league tables and the full methodology. No company named, every number reproducible. This edition: 278 pages across 187 sites.

  • 91%of 160 mid-market homepages carry at least one WCAG 2.2 AA violation
  • 97%of 99 checkout-path pages fail. The closer to the money, the worse it gets
  • 90%of sites carry at least one failure classed critical or serious
  • 3.3distinct violation types on the average mid-market homepage

Share of homepages failing, by sector

  • General e-commerce (n=27)96%
  • Fashion (n=39)95%
  • Home & furniture (n=32)91%
  • Beauty (n=33)91%

Flagship brands average a quarter fewer violations than the mid-market, and still 95% of them fail. Automated checks are the floor, not the ceiling: they find roughly 30 to 40% of real barriers, and Google warns of the same limit for its own Lighthouse.

How it works

Three steps. No meetings.

  1. Send your URL.

Try the free scan first if you like, then pay the fixed EUR 490. That is the whole onboarding. No account access, no discovery call.

  2. We scan and review.

Our engine tests your key journeys, AI triage removes the noise, and a human reviews everything we ship. 48 hours.

  3. Your developers get to work.

Every issue arrives with a screenshot, code reference, suggested fix, severity, confidence score, and a 90-day plan ordered by user impact and legal exposure.

The honest bit

What we will not tell you.

  • No fines have been publicly confirmed under the EAA yet. We will not pretend otherwise.
  • What is real: the law applies since June 2025, warning letters circulate in Germany, procurement teams now ask for accessibility statements, and remediation takes months. Starting late is the expensive option.
  • We do not sell overlay widgets. They do not fix conformance, and the market knows it.
  • AI does the heavy lifting; a human signs off everything we deliver. That is why this costs EUR 490, not EUR 4,000.
  • Our guarantee is one you can hold us to: delivered within 48 hours of payment, or it is free. Every finding carries a screenshot, a code reference and the WCAG success criterion it fails. Any finding you can show is a false positive, we remove and refund pro rata.

Who reviews your site

The signature on your report: Owen Hughes.

Owen Hughes founded Able and runs it from Barcelona. The scanning and triage are automated; the judgement is not. Before any report leaves, Owen re-tests the key findings by hand, removes anything the tooling got wrong, and signs the result with his name.

  • Every diagnostic and every full audit is reviewed and signed by Owen before delivery.
  • Verified Monitoring's quarterly signature is his: a hand re-test of your five journeys, every quarter.
  • The legal fact pages state when each was last verified against the statute; corrections are published under his name.

What you get

Two products. Fixed prices. Nothing else.

Rapid Accessibility Diagnostic

EUR 490 fixed

  • Up to 5 key pages or journeys (home, category, product, cart, checkout or signup)
  • WCAG 2.2 AA / EN 301 549 mapping on every finding
  • Screenshot, code reference and suggested fix per issue
  • Confidence score and human-reviewed flag per finding
  • Sector comparison against our published EU baseline
  • 90-day remediation plan, ordered by impact
  • 48-hour turnaround
Order the diagnostic

Full Conformance Audit

EUR 1,490 fixed

  • Everything in the Diagnostic, across up to 15 templates
  • Accessibility statement draft (an EAA disclosure requirement)
  • Issue-by-issue conformance mapping
  • One re-test of fixed issues within 60 days
  • 5 working days

We cap this at 15 templates on purpose. Below roughly EUR 100 a template nobody is reviewing anything by hand, whatever the page says, and a report that cannot survive a regulator is worse than no report. If your site needs more than 15, we will quote it rather than pretend.

Order the full audit

Verified Monitoring

EUR 290/quarter

  • Automated re-scans of your five key journeys between quarters, with an alert the day a release breaks a fix
  • Every quarter our named reviewer, Owen Hughes, re-tests those journeys by hand and signs the result
  • A dated conformance summary you can hand to procurement, a regulator or a lawyer
  • Your accessibility statement kept current as the site changes

Automated monitoring on its own is a commodity: several European vendors sell it at EUR 30 to 50 a month and one gives 25 pages away free forever. We are not going to pretend otherwise or charge you for it. The signature is the part worth paying for, because it is the part a machine cannot give you and a regulator actually asks for. Cancel any time. Launching after our first audit cohort; every audit customer locks in a founding rate. Want it? Say so in your order and we hold your rate.

What we do not do

  • Native mobile apps and PDFs (separate scope, ask us)
  • Implementation of the fixes themselves
  • Legal advice of any kind
  • Overlay widgets, ever
  • "Guaranteed compliance" claims; no honest vendor can promise that

Our fixes are written so most are doable without hiring anyone: we detect your platform (Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix and more) and write the instructions for it.

Questions we actually get

The short answers.

Who is exempt from the EAA?

Micro-enterprises (under 10 staff and under EUR 2 million turnover) are exempt for services. If that is you, you may not need this yet, and we will say so rather than sell to you.

Is this legal advice?

No. It is a technical conformity assessment your lawyers and developers can rely on for evidence. We test against the technical standard; interpreting the law stays with your counsel.

What standard do you test against?

WCAG 2.2 AA mapped to EN 301 549, the harmonised European standard behind the EAA.

Can you fix the issues too?

We hand your developers everything they need, ordered by impact. Implementation stays with them, or ask us about a remediation partner.

What about our mobile app?

The diagnostic covers web. Apps are a separate scope; contact us.

Is there public funding to help pay for fixes?

Sometimes. Digitalisation grant schemes in several countries and regions (Spain's Kit Digital rounds, Catalonia's ACCIÓ programmes and their equivalents elsewhere) periodically cover accessibility work, but windows open and close. We track open schemes continuously, and your report flags anything you plausibly qualify for at the time. Nothing needs to be granted to afford EUR 490, which is rather the point.

Get started

Order and pay online. Two minutes. Report in 48 hours.

Tell us your site and where to send the report, then pay on the next screen. The 48-hour clock starts the moment your payment is authorised, not when the money settles. Prefer to be invoiced first? Say so in the notes and we send a payment link instead.

No payment is taken now. We only use this to confirm scope and send your link (privacy). Prefer email? hello@able.cat works too.
